The city of San Andrés
Tuxtla is situated in the center of the most beautiful
region of the southeastern part of the country. It
has a population of 150,000 inhabitants, its climate
is hot averaging 28ºC and is 365 meters above
sea level; its ecosystems that coexist are the tropical
rain forest with coastal dunes and secondary vegetation.
Its fauna consists of populations of armadillos, rabbits,
tlacuaches, foxes, anteaters, spider monkeys and martens.

It offers all the
services and benefits of a modern city. From San Andrés
Tuxtla, you can easily visit the most important regional
wonders such as: The enchanted lagoon (Laguna Encantada
– La Casita de Yambigapan), Lake Catemaco, Lagoon
of Sontecomapán, Beaches at Montepío,
Playa Escondida, Balzapote, Jicacal, La Barra, Poza
Reina, the majestic Salto de Eyipantla (Waterfall),
the colonial city of Santiago Tuxtla with its museums
and the archaeological zone of Tres Zapotes, place
of the Olmec culture. Sheltered in this fertile region
world-class quality tobacco is also produced. It is
also possible for the visitors to take a close look
at the hand-made cigar processing in the several cigar
factories.
